Cybersecurity Awareness Month Discounts(AD)
University of South Florida scientists used the CRIS-HAZARD app to analyze real-time flooding in Pinellas County and Hillsborough County during hurricanes Helene and Milton. The app, developed in collaboration with Georgia Tech, uses volunteered geographic information and community crowdsourced data to identify and extract estimated water elevation, enabling informed policy-making and emergency management.

Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (IEE) has developed a pumped energy storage system for the seabed, which will be tested off Long Beach near Los Angeles. The pilot project, called StEnSea, will anchor a 400t concrete sphere at a depth of 500-600m, charging and discharging electricity when water flows in.

Eco Wave Power, a provider of onshore wave energy technology, will inaugurate Israel's first pilot station for generating electricity from sea waves at Jaffa Port on December 5. The project, built in collaboration with EDF Renewables Israel, will feature 10 floaters connected to Eco Wave Power's land-based energy conversion unit. The station will also serve as a public education center, funded by the EU's GREENinMED grant. The launch is seen as a significant milestone in the global renewable energy journey.

Scottish marine energy company Mocean Energy has raised £386,770 ($486,380) from its £900,000 ($1,131,790) crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The campaign aims to finance the next phase of the company's growth plans, transitioning from R&D to commercialization and internationalization. Mocean Energy's technology uses wave, solar, and battery storage to deliver renewable power and communications. The company has already demonstrated its prototype and customer projects are underway.

Eco Wave Power has reported Q3 2024 results, including a power station sale in Taiwan, a milestone in an Israel-based project, and a share buyback. The company achieved several milestones, including a 10% reduction in expenses from the second to the third quarter. In Taiwan, Eco Wave Power signed a first wave energy project sale agreement with I-Ke International Ocean Energy, financing a 100KW pilot project. In Israel, the company implemented an advanced automation system at its EWP-EDF One Project, achieving a 3.66% operating expense in Q3.
