The global water crisis is increasingly characterized by a complex web of extreme events, including devastating floods in some regions while others face severe water scarcity, further exacerbated by the insidious contamination of water sources with "forever chemicals" that do not break down in the environment. This pollution, alongside significant water loss during distribution to consumers due to ageing infrastructure, creates a multifaceted challenge demanding urgent action to ensure access to clean, safe water for all populations.
Key points of Concern that need immediate solutions:
Extreme events:
Both floods and droughts are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change, leading to unpredictable water availability.
Water scarcity:
Areas with limited water resources are experiencing growing shortages, particularly in regions with high population density and agricultural demands.
Forever chemicals:
Persistent organic pollutants like PFAS are contaminating water supplies, posing health risks due to their non-biodegradability.
Water loss during distribution:
Leaky pipes and inefficient infrastructure contribute to significant water loss before reaching consumers.
Fortunately, we have developed some new patented technologies within the last five years that have the potential to provide solutions to all these problems and make the Water World sustainable. As we know without water there is no life and again excess water kills life. So we need to have a solution that balances the two extremes. These five patented technologies can address the dreaded disasters with full confidence.
Shower and Reshower Device
The Oas shower system, which redefines household water usage and was influenced by astronautic technologies, was created by Mehrdad Mahdjoubi. Compared to traditional showers, the Swedish inventor's invention uses 90% less water and 80% less energy by filtering and recycling five litres of water. Because of the rigorous purification procedure incorporated into the Oas shower systems, a hospital that had installed them faced a legionella outbreak that impacted all of the water taps but not the showers.

Life Saving Jerrycans
The "jerrycan," a water container described in this patent, is made to effectively filter out pollutants. The water is safe to drink because of the container's built-in fibre membrane water filter, which eliminates bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants. Because of its small size and portability, it is easy to use for humanitarian missions and offers a practical way to get drinkable water from a variety of sources. As a result, regions with restricted or challenging access to water benefit greatly from the idea.

Microstation-based Flood Monitoring Device
VorteX.io, a French startup, provides a flood monitoring system built on a digital hydrology platform and an in situ sensor network. Drones and LED LiDAR sensors are used to remotely measure the depth and velocity of the water. The micro-stations are small, self-sufficient, and simple to set up.
For quick connectivity, they are also integrated with 3G/4G and IoT. Customers can also access real-time hydrological data and emergency notifications through the MAELSTROM platform. VorteX.io thus offers a technologically advanced technique to protect individuals from possible calamities.

Detect Leakage in Pipes Digitally
A German business called PipePredict uses artificial intelligence (AI), sensors, and digital twins to detect digital leaks. The company uses signal broadcasts and sensors that are already in place to keep an eye on the condition of various pipe materials. This results in quicker deployments and lower investment costs.
In order to undertake condition inspections and maximize asset performance, a digital twin also virtualizes the piping networks. Additionally, machine learning examines the gathered data to forecast any system outages. By preventing maintenance losses and conserving valuable water, PipePredict enhances water networks' resource efficiency.

The PFAS Destroyer
Aclarity is a firm that provides PFAS destruction technology that includes an anode surface that breaks down the carbon-fluorine bonds using free electrons, turning the PFAS into fluorine ions, CO2, and hydrofluoric acid. Ammonia, BOD, and COD pollutants can all be handled by the system simultaneously. The Aclarity technology is used to purify drinking water, industrial wastewater, landfill leachate, and wastewater from aviation facilities.
